There are a number of ways hearing aids can be set up for you. The majority of the big name hearing aid providers on the high street use something called “click and fit” which is where the levels from your audiogram (hearing test) are programmed into your hearing aids, and then the sound of the hearing aids is further fine-tuned based upon your feedback. We follow this exact same procedure, except that our fine-tuning appointments are done remotely instead of in person, giving you the same outcomes as if you had purchased your hearing aids from one of these companies.

It is however worth being aware that the gold-standard for hearing aid fittings (which is unfortunately performed by less than 25% of private hearing aid providers) is where the sound of the hearing aids is adjusted to Real Ear Measurements – this involves a small microphone being placed near to your eardrum so that your audiologist can measure the sound you are actually receiving to compensate for any acoustic differences of your particular ears. This procedure can only be done in person so we are not able to offer this service, however many local independent audiologists will be able to perform this service for you to make sure that your hearing aids are adjusted optimally for your ears and hearing.
