Phonak / Unitron CeruShield Wax Filters

Sonova Cerustop wax filters are specifically designed to keep your Phonak or Unitron hearing aids clear of wax to make sure that they stay hygenic and keep your hearing crystal clear. When you wear your hearing aid small amounts of moisture and wax can gather in the opening of your hearing aids, building up over time to reduce their effectiveness. To help protect the sensitive electronic parts of your hearing aids these wax filters sit in the opening and are designed to be replaced regularly. This keeps your hearing aids working well and also helps to prevent the need for more expensive repairs.

How Often Should I Replace My Wax Filters?

The normal frequency of wax filter replacement is monthly, which for most people keeps the hearing aids working well with no reductions in sound quality. People who produce more wax, or who spend a lot of time in warm, humid environments, may need to change them more often than this. Regardless of your normal maintenence routine, if the sound quality from your hearing aids reduces we would always recommend replacing the wax filter and dome.
