NEW! Do you have problems keeping your wax filter or tube clear on your Phonak or Unitron hearing aid? Then these brand new domes have been designed to help!
Compatible with most Phonak and Unitron hearing aids these clever domes are sealed with a special membrane that lets sound waves pass through, while preventing wax or moisture from entering your hearing aid and blocking the sound. The fan design helps to keep the membrane from becoming completely covered with wax, and a simple wipe off every day is all that is needed to keep you hearing clearly and comfortably.
To make sure that your hearing aids keep working at their best it is recommended to schedule in the regular replacement of your hearing aid domes. Over time the soft silicone material of your hearing aid domes can absorb wax and bacteria, as well as becoming thinner and softer. This makes the risk of the hearing aid dome splitting more likely, as well as sometimes causing your ears to feel itchy, or affecting the sound quality of your hearing aids.
How Often Should I Replace My Domes?
As these domes are a fully sealed unit, unlike other models, most people will replace these less often. Typically 3 months is what is required to keep your hearing aid clean, clear and comfortable. However, if you are prone to warm or itchy ears, or produce more wax than average then you may need to replace your domes more often.
Regardless of your normal maintenence routine, if the sound quality from your hearing aids reduces we would always recommend replacing the wax filter and dome.
